Our Program of Recovery

At Serenity Place, one of the strengths of our program is our ability to provide long-term treatment for addiction to drugs, alcohol and tobacco, while working with each client on other determinants of health specific to individual cases. Since addiction affects the whole person, we have found that a holistic approach to treatment benefits the client most. All aspects of the client’s needs are considered, including psychological, physical, social and spiritual. We understand that many times addiction is related to pre-existing mental health issues, and substance abuse can be a method of self-medication. We have a team of experts to identify and simultaneously treat these issues in order to build psychological resilience and help clients effectively cope on their own and without the use of substances. We have helped many clients work through issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), various personality disorders and other challenges, while receiving treatment for addiction. Addressing such issues is integral to helping ease addiction withdrawal symptoms and relapse prevention. The following is a list of some of the addictions that we treat: Alcohol addiction, cocaine addiction, heroin addiction, amphetamine addiction, meth addiction, fentanyl, addiction, opined addiction, prescription drug addiction, club/party drug addiction, marijuana addiction. We offer short and long term inpatient addiction treatment programs, in addition to an extended aftercare program. With a high success rate with past clients, our addiction treatment for drug and alcohol abuse is proven to work. Since no two people are the same, no two addiction treatment plans will be identical. We will tailor each treatment program to meet each individual’s needs. A comprehensive assessment will be completed during inpatient admission, in order to determine an appropriate path to effective treatment. Everybody is different. Our clients’ circumstances, needs and goals are as unique as they are, and our treatment programs are individualized accordingly. Our program is designed to offer life-affirming support while gently guiding clients towards goals that they have identified as important to them. In a safe, drug-free environment, our clients begin to experience an orderly pattern of daily living and begin to see the direction they wish to take for a life that will eventually bring them peace and joy. The learning occurs alongside others who have suffered similar challenges and they are thus able to connect at a deep emotional level, building trust and forging relationships that help them develop a strong sense of community. Reducing the sense of separation for the client, while increasing the sense of belonging and self-worth is of utmost importance and often determines long-term success.
